What we are up to and how you can help:
Math: Counting Coins & Time
- Coins-Pull out your pocket change, ask to identify the coin with the the value. Have your child organize coins from greatest to least, then count up. We are learning to count up to $1.00.
- Time-Practice counting by 5s. Do you have an analogue clock at your house? Randomly ask them what time it is. Discuss things you are doing in A.M and P.M.
- Have your child give you at least three good reasons why they want to do something or why they think a certain way/have an opinion about something. Make sure they are strong reasons that would actually persuade someone. We are learning how to defend our thoughts without begging :-)
- Ask about the characters in the books your child is reading: What are they thinking? What is their personality like? How do you think they will act next?
- Ask your child to name the 7 continents and where they are on a map.
- This week we will learn a few facts about each continents, ask them to tell you one cool thing about each continent.
